Online 8 Week Mindful Self-Compassion Course

17th February 2022 to 7th April 2022

The Program

I am pleased to let you know that I will be offering the 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion Course Online starting in February.

We'll be using the Zoom Conferencing Platform to meet  online over eight Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30 pm.

The dates will be 17/02/22, 24/02/22, 03/03/22, 10/03/22, 17/03/22, 24/03/22, 31/03/22, 07/04/22, 

In addition, there is a morning retreat from 9am to 12pm (AEST)on Sunday 20/03/22.

Cost: $650

Medicare Rebate may be available.

Compassionate Mind Training Courses for 2022

I am very excited to also be offering an 8 week course in Compassionate Mind Training in 2022. I feel that it very nicely complements the cultivation of compassion seen in Mindful Self-Compassion (and vice versa!), with different approaches including the use of imagery and exercises working with the different parts that make up our experiences.

Compassionate Mind Training is an evidence based course based on the work of Professor Paul Gilbert and Compassion Focused Therapy. It has been developed into an 8 week course by Dr Chris Irons and Dr Charlie Heriot-Maitland during which participants will learn how to cultivate their Compassionate Minds and engage this in dealing with self-criticism and finding balance when facing strong negative emotions.

 

During the course, we will look at:

 - how our "tricky brains" make us naturally susceptible to getting caught up in negative thinking/emotion "loops" to increase the suffering we experience

 - a model of emotions looking at our threat , drive and soothing systems in particular.

 - compassion - what it is, factors that help it develop as well as factors that can block it's expression, and how we can train our minds in it.

 - the "flows" of compassion (To Others, From Others and To Ourselves) and looking explicitly at cultivating each of these as well as the fears, blocks and resistances that might arise in these flows.

 - bringing our Compassionate Self to assist us when facing self-criticism and difficult emotions.

 

 Like MSC, the sessions are all deeply experiential, and there are lots of practical exercises throughout the course involving mindfulness, breathing exercises, imagery and home practice to support the cultivation of your Compassionate Mind.

 

 

 

Online 8 Week Compassionate Mind Training Course

5th May 2022 to 23rd June 2022

The Program

Our first Compassionate Mind Training Course will be run starting in May 2022. At this stage, it is likely to be offered via the Zoom platform to minimise the activation of our Threat Systems until we have at least had the opportunity to work with this from engaging with the course!  The number of participants will be limited to allow us all to still engage intimately with ourselves within a supportive group setting. I will of course update the course information as the situation here in Melbourne becomes clearer.

The dates will be  05/05/22,  12/05/22,  19/05/22,  26/05/22,  02/06/22,  09/06/22,  16/06/22 and 23/06/22.

In addition, there is a morning retreat from 9am to 12pm (AEST)on Sunday 05/06/22.
